Standard Oil Company is a game about an American oil company in the 1870s. Old man Oliver has one million dollars to spend for the rest of his life in order to monopolize the oil market.

As an oil company, you must discover as many oil wells as possible, install conveyor belts, and deliver the oil to the centers while efficiently using the land. Pay property tax, sales tax, and corporate tax out of your profits, and if you make it through your fiscal year without incident, expand your land holdings and increase the size of your revenue stream.

Land is being taken rapidly as outsiders buy in, but the time to take advantage of this is while you are still considering the purchase. Occupy the land first, and use the two-way conveyor belts, building demolition, oil field survey equipment, and refineries as you increase your production volume rapidly.
